  • Physical Properties: It is a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid with a slight characteristic odor. The specific gravity is about 0.880-0.890 (25°C), the boiling point is approximately 380°C, and the flash point is above 160°C. It is insoluble in water, but soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, benzene and toluene. It has good fluidity and can form a uniform film on the surface of substrates.
  • Chemical Properties: It has excellent chemical stability and thermal stability, and does not easily decompose under normal temperature and pressure. The ethoxy groups in the molecule can undergo hydrolysis reaction in the presence of water and catalyst to generate silanol groups (-SiOH), which can further condense with hydroxyl groups on the surface of inorganic materials (such as glass, metal, concrete, minerals) to form stable chemical bonds. The long-chain alkyl groups can form a hydrophobic layer on the material surface, providing excellent water repellency. It is inert to most organic and inorganic substances, and does not react with acids, alkalis and other substances under normal conditions (except for strong acids and alkalis that can accelerate hydrolysis).

  • Inorganic Material Surface Modification: It is used for surface treatment of minerals (such as calcium carbonate, talcum powder, kaolin), glass fibers and other inorganic fillers.
