Properties

Hydrogen-containing silicone oil has excellent hydrophobicity. Under the action of metal catalysts, it can crosslink at moderate temperature to form a waterproof film on various substrates. It is widely used as a water repellent, release agent or anti-corrosion agent for textiles, dry powder fire extinguishing agents, paper, metal, leather, wood, glass, cement, ceramics, marble, etc.

Applications

  1. Used as crosslinking agent, anti-yellowing agent and coupling agent in high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (HTV).
  2. Used as crosslinking agent for addition-cured liquid silicone rubber, forming Si-C bonds under platinum catalysis.
  3. Used as waterproofing agent for waterproof clothing and waterproof plasterboard; crosslinks at low temperature to form a waterproof film.
  4. Used for surface treatment of electrical grade MgO to provide insulation.
  5. Used in textile and apparel industry as softener, water repellent, hand feel improver, sewing thread lubricant, chemical fiber spinneret lubricant and garment fusing auxiliary.
