Properties
Hydrogen-containing silicone oil has excellent hydrophobicity. Under the action of metal catalysts, it can crosslink at moderate temperature to form a waterproof film on various substrates. It is widely used as a water repellent, release agent or anti-corrosion agent for textiles, dry powder fire extinguishing agents, paper, metal, leather, wood, glass, cement, ceramics, marble, etc.
Applications
- Used as crosslinking agent, anti-yellowing agent and coupling agent in high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber (HTV).
- Used as crosslinking agent for addition-cured liquid silicone rubber, forming Si-C bonds under platinum catalysis.
- Used as waterproofing agent for waterproof clothing and waterproof plasterboard; crosslinks at low temperature to form a waterproof film.
- Used for surface treatment of electrical grade MgO to provide insulation.
- Used in textile and apparel industry as softener, water repellent, hand feel improver, sewing thread lubricant, chemical fiber spinneret lubricant and garment fusing auxiliary.
