Properties

This product is an emulsion of polydimethylsiloxane with one vinyl group at each end of the molecular chain. It inherits the characteristics of V401 vinyl silicone oil and is an excellent and reactive intermediate material.

In addition to the general properties of methyl silicone oil (smoothness, softness, gloss, temperature resistance, weather resistance, etc.), V401 vinyl silicone oil has the following unique properties:

The vinyl groups at both ends exhibit high reactivity, enabling rapid addition reaction with hydrogen-containing silicone oil (under catalyst) and participation in various other reactions.
Compared with branched vinyl silicone oil, the molecule has no pendant chain segments.
Better compatibility with organic materials than methyl silicone oil, making it easier to compound with other organic materials.

Applications

Used as base material for water-based paper release agents and fabric coating agents, mostly used in combination with hydrogen-containing silicone oil emulsion.
Used as modifier for silicone-acrylic emulsion produced by emulsion polymerization.

Usage & Dosage

For modification, the dosage is 10–20% of the base material at the same concentration.
